Mission

Establish and promote the local organization, representation and allyship for LGBTQ+ community at MSCI in Budapest. ​

Challenges

  • No local experience with engaging local employee base.

  • Lack of understanding of Hungary-specific LGBTQ+ related challenges.

  • No strategy/structure to address the topics locally.

Coping Tactics

  • Engaged and collaborated with Hungary's biggest non-profit organization (We Are Open) to understand best practices for local corporations.

  • Identified the key challenges and formulated the goals.

  • Created a 4-pillar long-term strategy and a short-term tactical plan.

  • Advocated for global corporate support.

  • Established a local team of 6 individuals for running point on LGBTQ+ activities.

  • Oversaw and supervised the execution of the strategy.

  • Generated outstanding global engagement within 6 months.

Achievements

Created a safer space for local LGBTQ+ employees at the workplace, by realizing the importance of creating a strategy to address country-specific challenges within a standardized, multinational environment.

  • Oversaw all regional activities, budgets and communications.

  • Coordinated the International Women's Day celebrations in all regional offices.

  • Organized a successful virtual regional networking event across functions and hierarchy levels during the corona pandemic.

  • Promote and activate the global Forum's mission and goals.

  • Support women who lack leadership ambition, to become more effective at their work too.

  • Brought inspiring outside speakers, like Borbála Czakó, President of the Hungarian Business Leaders forum and former Ambassador of Hungary to the United Kingdom.

  • Organized motivational training by Imre Bolya, Charisma Coach.

  • Held a book discussion on positive thinking.

  • Promoted networking events for female colleagues like Ted Women.

  • Organized movie nights with entertaining content to raise awareness.

Achievements

  • Increased the exposure of female colleagues to MSCI leaders, clients and to each other.

  • Built a community by highlighting common challenges at the workplace.

  • Managed to engage male colleagues under the aegis of equality.
